  • OLLIE OLLIE OXEN FREE

Remember those games you played after the sun went down.  Usually,
it was some variation of "hide and seek".  I remember one of
the games we played.  Home was a street light and the kid who
was "it" had to guard the pole and at the same time try to find and
touch someone before they touched the pole.  When the game was
over, you called in the rest of the players in order to restart the
    game.

Now when kids are playing a similar game they say, "ollie ollie oxen free".

When I was growing up in South Dakota in the 1940's, it was "ole ole olsen, all in free".  Of course, that was Scandinavian country.

I think the original may have been "all the outs in free".

    What did you call it?

  • A LOOK AT SOME FACTS

    FDR led us into
World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945,
450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Harry Truman finished that war and started one in Korea.  North
Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost; an
    average of 18,334  per year.

John F. Kennedy started the Vietnam conflict in 1962. Vietnam never attacked us. Lyndon Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire.  From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

    Bill
Clinton went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent, Bosnia
never attacked us.  He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a
platter three times by Sudan and did nothing.  Osama has attacked
    us on multiple occasions.

In the two years since terrorists
attacked us, President Bush has liberated  two countries, crushed
the Taliban, wounded al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran
and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who
slaughtered 300,000 of his own people.

The Democrats are complaining about how long the war is taking, but: It
took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno, the FBI, and the
ATF to take the Branch Davidian compound.  That was a 51 day
    operation.

We've been looking for evidence of chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton to find the Rose Law
    Firm billing records.

It took less time for the 3rd Infantry
Division and the Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard than it
took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his Oldsmobile sank at
    Chappaquiddick.

It took less time to take Iraq than it took to count the votes in Florida!!!!

  • WATER OR COKE?

Water is important but did you know?
    - 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
    - In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
    - Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
    - One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a University of Washington study.
    - Lack of water is the #1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
    - Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
    - A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on a printed page.
    - Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

    Some facts about Coca-Cola

    - In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the trunk to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
    - You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of coke and it will be gone in two days.
    - To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
    - To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
    - To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion.
    - To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
    - To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. 30 minutes before the ham is finished, brown gravy.
    - To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.
    - The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
    - To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for Highly corrosive materials.
    - It is said that some distributors of coke use it to clean the engines of their trucks!

Now the question is, would you like a glass of water or a coke?

  • Check out an awesome paint job! This is what some of our boys overseas did to their helicopter.  This very special Mi-24 helicopter is presently flying in Afghanistan, where it is no doubt causing quite a stir.
