LEARNING PHOTOSHOP
July 2008
I said earlier that we’ve been making scrapbooks for our grandkids. Because I didn’t want to just have plain vanilla photos, I decided to sharpen up my graphic skills. There are some of the things I’ve done on photoshop to spice up the albums.
Steve’s kids.
Steve’s family on vacation.
(The actual pic was on the couch)Patrick likes to play Age Of Empires.
Lauren and Phil at the prom.
Mike and Kendra on a Rockwell cover.
Lauren and Phil at the school dance. Not perfect, but I’m getting better.

I have a very old version of Photoshop that I’ve had for a long time. It is a very intimidating and extremely powerful program (not inexpensive) and not to easy to learn. I’ve only scratched the surface of it’s capabilities.
If you’re interested in using it, I would suggest that before investing in a new version, buy an old outdated copy. Mine is version 5 and it’s ten years old, but it does everything I need. There are tutorials available that can get you started.
That’s cool. I don’t have PS… but have PS elements… which is a smaller (ie, less expensive) version. I have no idea how to work most of it (though I learn a little something new every day!), but it is a great program that can do all sorts of stuff. I can’t reallly afford PS… well, I can, but I don’t want to spend that kinda money, lol.

I also have photoshop elements which I use for organizing my pictures and minor things like red eye removal. It’s a super program, but doesn’t have the editing capabilities.
Wow! I am IMpressed!! You done gud!!
) You must have a really wide creative streak in you and a wonderful imagination because you really spiced up those photos. I bet your kiddos loved them! Makes me want to try to do something like that. Then …. 2 mins. later, I’m thinking…’nah!’
) LOL Share some more with us when you can!
Those are hilarious!!
They look pretty darn good to me, Paul !
I know what you mean about old versions of software; I use Serif PagePlus 8 and am constantly being bombarded by Serif to buy their newest versions (I think it’s 12 by now), but mine does all I need without having to learn new stuff.
What a hoot! Superman and Irish wonder woman……you missed your calling Paul.
bahaha! i like wonderwoman!!! [and the prom]
fun stuff…and good job playing w/photos.
funny ! you done well…
The time stamps on these comments are freaking me out, man! I was going to comment that these pics were awesome, but then I saw that I already did! At first, I was like “Wait a minute! I wasn’t online at 7:30 this morning!” Time warp, indeed.
Very creative, Paul
