LEON REDBONE
I’ve spent most of my day ripping my music CDs on the computer and listening to some great tunes. Among others, were Josh Groban, The Manhattan Transfer, and a lot of Leon Redbone.
Leon Redbone has a style and voice that is all his one. He sings in a style that is part dixieland jazz, part folk and part ragtime. His voice is a mellow deep baritone or bass and he adds a texture and flavor to a song that is his alone. Once you have heard him, you will always recognize his music when you hear it again. If you haven’t already, you should add him to your music library. A couple of my favorites are “Ain’t Misbehavin’” and “Your Feets Too Big”.By the way I want to thank LongTimeLurker for turning me on to Armik.

Glad you enjoyed Armik
As for Leon – long time Leon fan here. One of my all time favorites is off the CD you have pictured, “Gotta Shake That Thing” Love the tempo, and the bass sax. Despite the hundreds of times I’ve listened to it, it’s still hard for me to remain seated while it’s playing
A good friend of mine opened for Leon at a club many years ago. Of course when he told me thins I was wanting to hear stories and tales of Leon interaction. Friend said it was very strange – Leon almost steadfastly refused to speak to anyone. Don’t know if that just happened to be a strange night or if he is that way normally. Be that as it may, I still am a big fan.
I didn’ t realize you were back !
I was intrested by the entry below . Unfortunatly France has no coverage !!!!
I like the imaged way you describe the singer ‘ s voice .
In friendship
