To enjoy a beautiful song sung with a lusty and powerful voice, play the song below. It's one of my favorite songs by one of my favorite artists.I'm a little confused about the title and the lyrics. Adagio is a musical term meaning slowly. I don't know if the song refers to a person named Adagio, if it's because the romance is progressing slowly, or if it's because of the songs tempo.
There is an Italian version. If I only listened to the Italian version, I wouldn't need to worry about it and I could just enjoy the music.

The music as originally written was called Adagio for Strings and was a classical piece written by Samuel Barber for the death of a princess. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adagio_for_Strings. It's heart-rendingly sad. This is the first time I have heard it with lyrics.
I have the classical version of Adagio for strings and it's not the same.

I remember this melody only played by instruments . But here the instrument is her velvety but also strong voice .

Just the instrumental intro gave me a small frisson, then the voice raised goosebumps. Something in her styling reminds me a little of Josh Groban. Wonderful.

I had to look up the definition of frisson, but try another one with this duet she sings with Josh Groban.

Music is hauntingly beautiful, but the voice is so 'breath-y' which at my age, well, I date myself, but it seems quite pretentious; ostentatious. Today so many of the artists have such an exaggerated outward show of themselves... for me, it is hard to take.
