  • Pumpkin Eaters

Every fall we buy pumpkins to decorate our yard.  This year we moved them to our patio in the rear of the house, just outside our patio door.  When I picked one up by the stalk, it came out. Thinking nothing of it, I stuck it back in and left it on the patio.

Usually the patio or the porch is occupied by Josie, our Pyrenees.

The next day, I noticed the stalk was gone and something had made a meal of the seeds and pulp.  That afternoon, I spotted the culprit squirrels. These pictures were taken through the door.

  • That rotten little bastard!

(I have had a strained relationship with squirrels ever since they jacked my son’s Halloween candy.)

  • beautiful dog and great photos.  what a wonderful experience sharing a pumpkin with a squirrel.

  • what a beautiful dog!  I can’t believe the squirrel is eating a pumpkin.  I’ve never seen that.

  • Awwww!  Josie’s gorgeous!  She reminds me of my sis’ pyr.   :)   (New photos of her & my bc are up on my site, btw!)

I’m with jrat… never saw a squirrel nibble a pumpkin before… though they did nibble on my sis & bil’s watermelons a bit.  Which didn’t make my sis very happy!
